About the AMA
Grassroots origins - built by FAMs for FAMs
The AMA started at the Newark, NJ field office in 2010. Under the tireless efforts of our Founding Board over the past decade, the AMA has grown to be the largest labor organization representing Federal Air Marshals.

With over half of flying FAMs as members, the legal muscle of a nationwide law firm, and over a decade of experience fighting and winning, there is simply no other organization that comes close to our level of advocacy and expertise.

AMA Founder/Vice President. Sam has always taken care of the mission and his fellow FAMs, and was awarded FAM of the Year in 2011. Sam is an experienced K-9 handler, Veteran, and patriot. He can be all bark, or all bite - your choice.

AMA Founder/Secretary Treasurer. Jerry likes a good laugh, and has a passion for helping FAMs. Jerry earned an Accounting BA, Criminal Justice MS, and is an adjunct college professor. He joined the FAMS in 2006 from the US Capital Police.

Travis is a Senior FAM and AMA PHL Delegate. He is an experienced Instructor, and has served on multiple advisory boards. Travis has worked on various AMA committees, represented the AMA in Congress, and tackled critical issues with TSA and FAMS leadership.

Retired Army Senior NCO that served in Ranger, Special Forces, Infantry, and Drill Instructor units before his LEO career as a Deputy Sheriff then Senior FAM. Kevin served on multiple FAMS advisory boards, is an experienced Instructor, an AMA NYFO Delegate and AMA Board member.

Dennis is at large in the Chicago area and has been active in the AMA since 2012. Dennis chairs our Election and FLSA committees, and works closely with our attorneys on offensive litigation including our wage and hour suit. Dennis is a tireless advocate for his peers.

Billy served 9 years as a USMC Infantryman, followed by 5 years with the United States Capitol Police with adjunct HAZMAT technician duties. Billy operates out of the DC area and oversees our AMA meetings and internal communication.

Former Army police officer, Patrol Supervisor and Desk Sergeant, Brian joined the federal service in 2010. A former Ops Officer in ATL and DCA, he was also the National CIRP coordinator. Brian operates out of the DC area and is the AMA C.A.R.E program lead.

Ken served as a uniformed Police Officer before joining the federal service. He holds a Doctorate, and works as an adjunct University Professor. Throughout his career, Ken has held positions in OPS, training, CIRP, liaison, and acting supervisor. Ken is at large in the LAX area.

Nicholas has over 37 years of experience navigating clients through complex employment, labor, insurance, and business disputes on both the state and federal levels. Nicholas provides direct legal representation to federal, state and local LEOs.

For the past 30+ years Mark has served as a Congressional staffer, managed legislative programs for large public sector unions, and has built a deep list of career contacts on Capitol Hill. He has successfully navigated AMA bills into law. Mark is our Legislative Committee Chairman.
